Position Summary
The Business Development Associate is responsible for identifying, initiating, and qualifying new sales opportunities with large, complex organizations. This role supports the firm’s enterprise sales strategy by building a strong pipeline of qualified prospects and acting as the first point of contact for potential clients.
The BDA will engage senior procurement, finance, and operations stakeholders in thoughtful, value-driven conversations about strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and supply chain transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Prospecting and Legal Generation
· Identify target accounts through market research, data tools, referrals, and inbound leads.
· Develop account intelligence including organizational structure, procurement priorities, and financial drivers
· Execute outbound outreach campaigns aligned with firm messaging and value propositions
Client Engagement and Qualification
· Initiate contact with prospective clients through multi-channel outreach
· Conduct initial discovery calls to assess client needs, challenges, and readiness
· Qualify opportunities using defined criteria (industry fit, spend profile, urgency, decision-makers)
· Position the firm’s capabilities clearly and credibly to executive audiences
Sales Support and Pipeline Management
· Partner with senior sales executives to transition qualified opportunities
· Prepare briefing materials, call notes, and opportunity summaries
· Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and activity logs
· Track performance metrics including outreach volume, conversion rates, and pipeline contribution
Collaboration & Learning
· Work closely with consulting, analytics, and delivery teams to understand solutions
· Participate in sales training, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives
· Stay informed on sourcing trends, procurement technology, and competitive landscape
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree
· 2–5 years of B2B sales, business development, consulting, or client services experience
· Experience in professional services, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain preferred
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Comfort engaging with senior-level stakeholders
· Proficiency with CRM systems and sales productivity tools
